The problem
Support work depends on the customer record and the organisation's internal knowledge. An assistant outside that environment would ask the user to reconstruct context that is already present in the working system.
The engineering question was how to bring AI assistance into an existing CRM workflow, with relevant information available at the point of use.
The approach explored
The proof of concept explored a CRM-embedded assistant with context retrieval and internal knowledge. Its purpose was to examine that integration in the support environment, rather than introduce a separate general-purpose chat destination.
- The existing CRM as the place where the support user works.
- Customer context and internal knowledge as relevant information sources.
- AI assistance connected to that native workflow.
Questions for a wider implementation
Moving from a proof of concept to production would require project-specific decisions about record access, source quality, output checking and when a support agent must review a suggestion.
These are considerations for a future implementation, not a statement that every control or integration was delivered in this proof of concept.
Status and evidence
The work is described as a proof of concept. No production rollout, measured time saving, resolution-rate improvement or other business outcome is claimed.
The transferable experience is the integration problem: making enterprise context available to AI inside an established application. A new engagement would need its own scope, permissions and evaluation.
